Aditya is a commercial litigator and heads the firm’s civil fraud, asset tracing departments. He specialises in complex, high value cross-border fraud and insolvency matters in the shipping and commodity industries in the context of enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and judgements in India. In this regard, his recent work experience inter alia includes enforcement, execution and insolvency proceedings on behalf of a leading international energy trading company in respect of a USD 68 Million (excluding accrued interest) London arbitral award in India, in conjunction with an investigation of allegedly fraudulent asset transfers to a web of companies closely held and controlled by the award debtor and legal proceedings before a Court in a southern state of India in relation to tracing assets held in trust by an UAE based charterer in respect to a USD 70 Million obtained by one of the largest shipping enterprises in Greece against an UAE based charterer.
Having been part of the firm for over a decade he has been extensively involved in shipping litigation encompassing almost every aspect relating to the commercial operation of a ship. He regularly visits ships for casualty investigations wherein he has taken statements of seafarers and has recently been extensively involved in an allusion trial. Aditya has also appeared before tribunals relating to commodity and shipping arbitrations. Mr. Krishnamurthy holds an LL.M in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton (UK) and prior to working in Bose & Mitra & Co has gained experience in working in two English law firms in Singapore.
